I'm a professional needlework designer and a wonderful procrastinator. I
like to make things, buy stuff to make things with, and sell the things
I make. And I can be a real hoot when I'm not napping.
Quick history: My grandmother did all types of needlework and began teaching me when I was around 6 yrs old. My very first piece was a clown done entirely in French knots... I still have it:
Since then I've been to school, gotten married (twice even), had a child, and figured out how to make my backs neater. I've won awards, managed multi-million dollar stores, traveled quite a bit, and learned to appreciate hot tea. But more importantly, I've settled into a comfortable groove of creating designs for you that are meaningful, cheery, and fun to stitch.
In February of 2005, I attended the Nashville Needlework Market with the idea
that I might like to become a designer someday. That April, I launched My Mark with just 8 designs and now there are about 65 active designs on the roster. Thanks to you, My Mark keeps on growing. I'm looking forward to seeing what another year brings!
PS. I like to natter on about a variety of things on my blog, Inside Number Twenty and post businessy stuff on my facebook page... I'd love to see you at either one or both ;)
