MM021 icthus

“Icthus”, the Greek word for “fish”, is also an acronym for “Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour.” Early Christians, under fear of persecution and/or death, would use this symbol to identify themselves to one another. The icthus is still used today to signify Christian beliefs; what a blessing it is that we no longer need to hide our faith!
